Equine Water Treadmill & Rehabilitation Centre

About our facilities

Our home at Froglands Stud Farm, in the picturesque village of Cleeve Prior, is a purpose-built yard we constructed from a derelict farm. We’ve made it our mission to invest in first-class training and rehabilitation facilities to ensure we can provide the highest standards of care for your horse.

Our equipment includes a state-of-the-art water treadmill, salt therapy room and solarium. Our grounds boast secure stables, pens, paddocks, fields and gallops to provide your horse with the best natural environment.

We work with horses that have had major and minor surgery to support their road to recovery. We specialise in rehabilitation for horses who have had kissing spine surgery. Please call us anytime to see how we can help.

Equine water treadmill

Our water treadmill supports the rehabilitation, conditioning and training of the horses we care for. It enables your horse to undertake gentle – or strenuous – aerobic activity in a safe, supervised and controlled environment.

It’s perfect for building muscle and core strength after injury or improving fitness, endurance and physical conditioning for horses in any discipline. You can learn more about the treadmill by clicking the link below or reading about our other facilities.

Equine salt therapy room

Equine salt therapy is perfect for complementing our water treadmill activity. It helps reduce inflammation and clear excess mucus from the horse’s lungs to treat the symptoms of hay fever, asthma, winter coughs and COPD.

It can also boost your horse’s stamina, energy levels and performance by removing airborne pathogens and increasing oxygen capacity.

It promotes better overall wellbeing and supports the treatment of the following conditions:

  • Ringworm
  • Rain scald
  • Sweet itch
  • Mud fever
  • Bacterial or fungal skin allergies, rashes and hives

Salt therapy is 100% natural and drug-free and can help improve your horse’s fitness and conditioning as part of its rehabilitation.

Equine solarium

Our equine solarium is ideal for drying horses off after using the water treadmill and helping them warm up or down before or after exercise, as part of a routine.

It emits harmless short-wave infrared light and heat – similar to sunlight, but without the harmful UV rays – which help elevate your horse’s surface temperature and activate its major body functions.

The warmth and atmosphere help soothe the horse’s body and reduce stress. The solarium offers an array of benefits to aid your horse’s rehabilitation and conditioning. Solarium therapy can also help horses relax after exercise or physical activity.

Horse walkers

Horse walkers are motorised devices that allow the horse to walk in a circular motion around a penned track. They allow horses to exercise without human interaction.

They provide an easy and effective way of warming up or cooling down your horse before or after training.

Our walkers are perfect for exercise when riding isn’t possible, as part of a rehabilitation or fitness package.
