Equine rehabilitation therapy

About our equine water treadmill

Our water treadmill can support horses that require rehabilitation, conditioning or need to improve their fitness and strength. It provides a controlled aerobic workout exercise, which helps improve the horse’s core strength and cardiovascular endurance.

Walking in water encourages the horses to lift their legs higher, which works their back muscles harder and increases joint flexibility. It helps muscles to develop symmetrically as the horse balances itself while focusing on walking in a straight line.

The cold water also provides a cooling, massaging effect on the lower limbs, helping to improve circulation in the horse’s feet and strengthen leg joints and muscles.

Other facilities

As well as our equine water treadmill, we also offer a wide range of therapies and training to help your horse reach – and stay in – peak physical condition, including:

Equine salt therapy

Salt therapy provides a natural, non-invasive and drug free therapy for horses of all disciplines. It helps improve the overall health and efficiency of the horse’s respiratory system which in turn can lead to improved cardiovascular performance. The salt also helps to treat skin issues and inflammatory responses.

Competition horses

Competition horses need to be in optimal condition to perform at the highest level.

Whether your horse is recovering from injury or building its fitness, we’ll tailor a programme around its schedule and discipline to support peak fitness ready for competition day.

Holiday care

Taking a holiday but worried about who will take care of your horse while you’re away?

We offer flexible holiday packages with access to all our services to ensure its well looked after and can continue its training or fitness  programme while you enjoy your well-earned break.

Equine solarium

Our solarium is ideal for drying horses off after using the water treadmill and helping them warm up or down before or after exercise, as part of a routine. The warmth and atmosphere help soothe horse’s body and reduce stress.

Horse walkers

Horse walkers provide an easy and effective way of warming up or cooling down your horse before or after training.

It can also be used for rehabilitating horses after prolonged box rest.
